About me
Scott Bauer is a 13-year Ubud resident and a founder of Usada Bali, an indo-vedic vegetarian café, cultural center, and event venue located on Jln Sugriwa. He relocated to Ubud from Sag Harbor, New York in 2012, choosing a healthier lifestyle and a warmer climate.
Arriving in Ubud in 2012 he immediately resonated with the Balinese Cultural offerings and their philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, and subsequently started attending ceremonies, water purifications, traditional dance performances, and began to learn the cultural and artistic history.
Over the past 13 years, he has developed a strong connection with the Balinese community always living in a traditional ‘Kampung’ with a Balinese family. Scott is a practitioner of classical Ashtanga Yoga, Tibetan Buddhism, as well as a student of Ayurveda and Indonesian arts.
Scott’s journey involves recovery from substance abuse, using his experience to curate a unique protocol for arresting active addiction by incorporating Eastern philosophy, yoga, ayurveda, and meditation with Western science. With an educational background in biochemistry and his dedication to cognitive practices, he also curates bespoke retreat programs for health span and longevity specializing in addiction and trauma.
