Ilahi Sufi Qawwali is the world’s first all-female traditional Qawwali ensemble, offering audiences a profound glimpse into the timeless musical heart of Sufi mysticism. Guided by their teacher, Tahir Qawwali, an internationally acclaimed Qawwali artist and the only non-South Asian qawwal in the lineage of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Ustad Bakshi Salamat, the women of Ilahi are rigorously trained in the deeply traditional Doaba style of Qawwali, which features group vocals, two harmoniums, and Qawwali tablas. The ensemble emerged as part of the Sama School of Music, the largest global network for studying classical and Sufi music traditions from India and Pakistan. At Sama, Ilahi undergoes intensive, traditional training that demands hours of practice and deep immersion into the poetic and musical roots of this genre. Though they are only four years into their rigorous journey, their vision is to inspire and empower future generations of women to carry forward the legacy of Qawwali with devotion and authenticity. Ilahi Sufi Qawwali’s creation was sparked by dialogues between Tahir and his teachers during the making of the groundbreaking documentary Qawwali – Music of the Mystics. The film, the only comprehensive exploration of the tradition, includes a section on women’s contributions to Sufi music. Encouraged by his teachers, Tahir envisioned a group where women could finally voice the poetic and spiritual heritage of Qawwali. While women have long been involved in other forms of Sufi music, Ilahi is the first to perform Qawwali in its full, traditional ensemble format. Rooted in lineage, discipline, and love for the Sufi saints’ poetry, Ilahi Sufi Qawwali carries forward a tradition nearly a thousand years old. Their presence at Jeshna e Rekhta is a historic moment, symbolizing not only a breakthrough in tradition but also a step toward expanding the accessibility of this sacred art form to a wider, more inclusive audience.

The Elemental Exchange is a unique dance experience in which the first meeting between people is a vital concept. It is an authentic and pure moment in which two souls connect. The dancers will be invited to find each other synergistically on the sounds of a live musician and DJ (and dancer) Gil the Grid. This concept originated from the Hip-hop battle scene, where dancers meet each other more competitively. During the Elemental Exchange, we emphasize exchanging rather than competing to learn from and be inspired by each other, always with the key elements of hip-hop: Peace, Love, Unity, Having Fun, and Self-Knowledge.

The different dancers of Amenti, with a wide range of dance styles and identities, will appear on stage during this improvisational performance. Nobody knows what will happen; a surprising and unique moment for everyone there. This interactive performance allows the audience to provide the dancer's input while on the floor. The elements or 'layers' that Amenti uses in their movement discipline are also a recurring concept and a way to connect and communicate during this performance.

Amenti Movemeant's Method is a transformative method created by Gil' Gidori' Gomes Leal, which spreads awareness about the connection of the body and mind and gives tools for expanding the capabilities of self-expression and awareness. The method uses layers to create a structure from which to work. Every layer represents an area of life within the human experience. Also, every layer links to a specific moving method and a corresponding element. This method can unlock new levels of self-expression and self-awareness, leading to personal growth and transformation.

We all have an affinity for specific sports or work, which also works with our method. Some people have a natural association with a particular layer, either in movement or behavior, and an aversion or difficulty connecting to another layer. All of this tells us something about who you are.

During this day, we will give you a basic understanding of how you can relate to your body within the layer of power related to fire. We will teach you about reading and registering what happens in your body, what these signs tell you, and what you can do with this knowledge.

We will explore the underlying motivations that may hold you back from embracing your full power. The Layer of Power (Fire), which empowers you to step boldly into your strength, is the place from which we invite the body to move. You are not alone in this journey, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

We recognize the journey that has brought us to this moment and the importance of understanding how to shift our behaviors to break free from unhealthy patterns, leading to more positive outcomes. When we express our anger constructively, it can become a powerful catalyst for change. Markandeya (Marcus Berg) is a Swedish musician, singer, and producer currently living in the mountain village of Sopó, Colombia. His sultry vocals and deep bass lines are woven together in an emotive soundscape that defines his signature heart-centered ethereal dub. As the founder and lead singer of the pioneering eight-piece orchestra Kultiration, Marcus was pivotal in shaping the Nordic modern roots scene from 2004 onward. The band’s visionary blend of traditional folk, reggae and jazz established a cult-like following, sharing stages with legendary artists like Midnite, Groundation, and Michael Franti. Grounded in over a decade of Vedic studies and Eastern philosophy Marcus embraced the artist name “Markandeya” given to him by his teacher. In 2012 he debuted his first release as Markandeya, the Mirror of Words EP trilogy, bringing his vedic understanding into liquid sound with acoustic warmth and electronic innovation. After meeting his Colombian wife Almunis (Lulacruza) in Bali, they formed the duo Minük and released their internationally acclaimed debut Aurora in 2020, and have been performing at festivals across Latin America and Europe since. In 2021, during a period of global introspection Markandeya delved deeper into his love for the subtleties of space and distance in music. Acting as a cultural leader in Australia for 9 years through the socio-musical projects she spearheaded and already sponsored by NSW Create ( Australian Cultural Society) : Meninas da Lua and Batalá Samba Reggae Percussion group in Australia, Groove Bahia Band in Queensland Australia , Priscila Rios has already spread culture, music and dance at major festivals in Oceania, such as Woodford Folk Festival, Blues Festival, Brisbane Multicultural Arts Center, Bali Spirit Festival and others. As well as being a cultural leader, Priscila Rios has also contributed as a facilitator at many Waldorf schools in NSW, Australia.
