About me
Catur Hari Wijaya is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, drum teacher & sound nomad, whose lifelong journey of music has touched communities near and far. Drawing deep inspiration from the rich ethnic traditions of Indonesia, India, the Middle East, North Africa, and West Africa, Catur weaves a sonic tapestry that bridges ancient rhythms with contemporary expression.
His music features a mesmerizing blend of unique string instruments, shimmering flutes, earthy percussion, and indigenous styles, creating vibrant soundscapes that carry the wisdom of the world.
Each performance is a carefully curated journey, blending Catur’s original compositions with traditional songs. The result is an invitation to lose yourself in groovy melodies and rhythmic beats—a celebration of the nomadic spirit where music and dance unite.
In 2021, Catur released his debut solo album, Bali to Mali, available on all major streaming platforms. Currently, he is crafting his second album, exploring new instruments, and pushing the boundaries of his sound, promising a fresh and transformative musical experience.
A regular teacher at the Yoga Barn in Ubud, Catur will play live on the Grove stage and offer djembe, percussion, and sound healing workshops with his wife, Anna.
